The Belvidere High School boys’ freshmen and junior varsity baseball teams will compete against Harlem at 5 p.m. at Baseball JV Field. The varsity team will play at Harlem.

The Belvidere High School junior varsity girls’ soccer team will compete in the Belvidere JV Soccer Tournament at 9 a.m. at Belvidere High School.


The Belvidere High School girls’ varsity soccer team will compete against DeKalb Barb Fest Tournament at DeKalb High School.


The Belvidere High School boy’s junior varsity tennis team will compete in the Belvidere Boys JV Tennis Tournament at 10 a.m. at Belvidere High School and Belvidere South Middle School.


The Belvidere High School freshmen/sophomore boys’ track and field team will compete against Rocket Relays at 9 a.m. at Burlington Central High School.


The Belvidere High School varsity boys’ volleyball team will compete in the Rockford East Boys Volleyball Invite at 8:30 a.m. at Rockford East High School.


The Mad Dash 5K Run/Walk will be held at 9 a.m. in Spencer Park, located at 899 Appleton Road. The cost is $25 for adults, $15 for children/youth, or $60 per family. You can register at runsignup.com/Race/IL/Belvfidere/MADDash.


Belvidere and Boone County Churches are hosting a pasta dinner benefit for Habitat for Humanity from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, located at 1255 Jackson Street (on the corner of Jackson and Appleton).   There are several ways to get involved: buy a packet of 10 tickets for $80 ($8 each), donate an item for our silent auction, and buy a piece of the house with a cash donation (Bronze Sponsorship $99 to $199, Silver Sponsorship $200 to $349, Platinum Sponsorship $350 and up).  Take a test drive during our benefit dinner and Manely Motors will donate $20 to Habitat. The 8th Annual Shred Day for Belvidere Township Residents will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 8200 Fairgrounds Road.  Residents are allowed to bring up to 100 lbs. of paper to shred for free.  Any questions, call (815) 544-2027.


There will be a fundraiser dinner for Cyndee Pfaffinger Shacklee at the American Legion, located at 900 Chrysler Drive from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dinner includes smoked pulled pork, mostaccioli, BBQ beef and all the fixings.  The cost of dinner is $7.  Cash donations may also be made in person to the Cyndee Pfaffinger Shacklee Cancer Fund at any Alpine Bank location or by calling (818) 398-6500.  The benefit is to raise money to help pay for medical expenses.  The event will also have a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, music and raffles.


Belvidere High School will host the Mr. BHS competition at 7 p.m.in the District 100 PAC at Belvidere High School.  Admission is $5.
