A beautiful play set up North Boone’s first score of the game on Friday, Sept. 16 as they faced off against the Byron Tigers.

Junior Hayden Corson caught a pass from Britton Morris while streaking up the left sideline. Corson evaded and juked the Byron defender three or four times, until he was finally driven out of bounds near the Byron end-zone. Corson then scored on a three-yard pass from Morris. The two-point conversion was no good and North Boone was trailing 6-7.

Unfortunately for North Boone, the rest of the game was downhill from there.

Byron was leading 28-6 in the beginning of the second quarter. North Boone scored on a 3-yard pass from Morris to Nathan Nelson. Despite the stroke of luck, the extra point was no good, leaving North Boone in the dust with a score of 28-12.

The game just got worse from there for the Vikings.

Byron blew away their competitors by scoring 41 unanswered points and winning the game 69-12.

The junior varsity game was just as lopsided as the varsity game with Byron winning 60-8.
