Molly Kleckler, a 13-year old student at Pec Middle School has been chosen to take the next step in becoming recognized for her artistry by winning the local competition sponsored by the Pec Lions Club. She was honored recently along with Bailey Leif, 2nd place and Tess Gasparini, 3rd place. Each winner was awarded monetary prizes along with an appreciation award to the school.

Molly’s poster will be among the 600,000 worldwide to enter the 29th annual Lions International contest. Lions Club International is sponsoring this contest to emphasize the importance of world peace to young people everywhere. Her poster will be moving on to the District 1D competition in Rockford this next week.

This year’s theme, A Celebration of Peace, was expressed several ways by the seven students from the school that participated this year. The participating posters (other than Molly’s) are on display currently in the windows of the US Bank.

“Our club is cheering for Molly as her poster advances in the competition, and we hope that her vision will ultimately be shared with others around the world.” Cindy Klinger, Lions Club President said.
