Thomas F. Peterson, 87, of Black River Falls, Wis. passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2016 at Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls, Wis.
Thomas F. Peterson was born on July 2, 1929, commonly referred to as “The Big Event” in Rockford, Ill. Thomas was the son of Leonard and Julia (Floody) Peterson, and he married his high school sweetheart Elizabeth Ann Kissack at Rockton Methodist Church on June 24, 1949 in Rockton, Ill.
Thomas graduated from Hononegah High School in 1947 in Rockton, Ill. Thomas and Betty had a farm on Favor Road in rural Rockton and moved to Wisconsin to continued farming for 27 years in rural Humbird, Wis. in 1976.
Thomas enjoyed fishing, Sunday drives, bowling with Uptown Tap team in Rockford, Ill., card club, going to the Jackson County Fair and playing jokes on his grandchil-dren.
He enjoyed spending time on Red Lake and Lake Waubesa. Thomas loved taking care of animals and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. One of his happiest moments was watching the Cubs win the World Series with his son David. Go Cubs!
Thomas is preceded in death by his beloved wife Elizabeth (Kissack) Peterson; parents Leonard and Julia (Floody) Peterson; sisters Janet (Peterson) Matthews and Betty Ann (Peter-son) Burns.
Thomas is survived by his daughter Susan Metcalf/Harlow (Ronnie), son David Peterson (Michele), Grandchildren Thomas Aaberg (Robin), Jennifer Peterson, Sara Peters (Bryan), Elizabeth Dunn (Ryan), Katie Peterson and Gregory Peterson. Thomas is also survived by many nieces and neph-ews whom he loved very much.
He is survived by his many great-grandchildren, Dane Aaberg, Hagan Aaberg, Laken Aaberg, Connelly Dunn, Kellan Dunn, Thomas Noack, Molly Noack, Madeleine Peters, Evan Peters and Gabriel Peterson.
A service for family and friends will held at South Burritt Cemetery in Winnebago, Ill. in the spring.
