At the Feb. 20 South Be-loit City Council meeting, commissioners gave approval for a “tentative plat at Willowbrook Subdivision” (near I-90 and Willowbrook and Manchester Roads) to be referred to the Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals at its March ZBA meeting.
Three years ago, Hen-dricks went before the ZBA and received the okay for a Commercial Planned Unit Development (CPUD) “Phase I Site Plan” titled “Ironworks.”
At that time, hopes were that a Meijer “superstore” would anchor the develop-ment, however, nothing more was heard about the parcels until now.
As explained by Attorney Aaron Szeto, the upcoming site or sites concern a differ-ent area of the land (identi-fied as 15635 Willowbrook Road, 15XXX Manchester and also Willowbrook Roads, and 6085 Manchester Road). More information will be forthcoming in the near future.
Commissioner Tom Fitz-gerald gave the bi-weekly fire department report covering Jan. 28-Feb. 10, in which 32 ambulance runs and one engine run were reported. There were 28 medical responses and one natural gas leak response. There were four mutual aid responses to Beloit.
It was noted that there were 12 fire runs in the past week on illegal burning re-ports. Open burning will most likely begin in mid-March and go through the end of April.
The council gave approval for payments of $201,943.23 in bills to be paid covering the time period from Feb. 4-17.
A resolution was passed approving a 25-year franchise agreement
