Throughout the 2016-2017 school year, Concordia Lanes, located at 1205 Logan Ave. in Belvidere, has conducted their yearly Junior Bowling League for area students looking to improve their alley game.

Twice a week, Concordia conducts the youth bowling league on Saturdays and on Mondays after school.

With each round of play brings a list of area youth who have attained the highest scores and the highest series totals for the week to be named to the high scores’ list.

For most of the season, the same junior bowlers stay on top of the list, while slowly improving their scores throughout the year. Once in a while, some youth bowlers will come out of the woodwork to join the regulars on the high scores’ list.

The week of March 6 was one of those weeks where two new bowlers joined the regulars for their spot in the limelight.

For the Bantams division, the regulars kept their spots on top for the week. Brooklynn Wilkinson held her spot with a 94 game and a 182 series. Noel Capodanno stayed right up with her with an 83 game and a 153 series.

In the Preps category, one new bowler joined the ranks with two regulars. Maci McCoy had the highest score for the girls with a 132 game and a 371 series. Chad Morgan held his spot for the boys with a 149 game. However, Preston Potter swooped in to take his spot for the highest series for the boys with a 346.

In the Junior/Majors division, Kevin Jenks remained in play with a 257 game and a 559 series. Joining Jenks for the week was Lauren Schaefer with a 144 high game and a 399 series.
