At the April 4 Loves Park City Council meeting, aldermen and Mayor Darryl Lindberg, along with various police department officials welcomed the newest Loves Park police officer.
Kyle May is a resident of Rockton who graduated from South Beloit High School and is an Army veteran, who recently worked as a Corrections Officer in Winnebago County. May, who was sworn in at the April 4 meeting, reported to the Illinois State Police Training Academy on April 9.
In other business, Loves Park was presented with a “special presentation from Mark Rice of McClure Engineering” of Rockford regarding engineering awards for the Sportscore II Project No. 2. Sportscore was named in the Top 20 engineering projects within the State of Illinois last year.
Mayor Lindberg advised the council that waste pick up “continues at curbside” in the city each Friday.
Police Chief Chuck Lynde was given the okay to “transfer bicycles in the department’s possession to a charitable organization currently registered with the State per the 765 ILCS 1030 Law Enforcement Disposition of Property Act.”
