At the April 24 Loves Park City Council meeting, outgoing mayor, Darryl Lindberg, was honored by the North Suburban Library District (NSLD) Board of Trustees for his 20 years service as mayor to the City of Loves Park.
Library Board President Jane Burden, and NSLD Executive Director Mary Petro, presented Lindberg with a plaque, which read:
“A resolution of appreciation recognizing Mayor Darryl Lindberg for his support of the North Suburban Library District:
“WHEREAS, Mayor Lindberg has served as the Mayor of Loves Park, IL since 1997; and…WHEREAS, during Mayor Lindberg’s term, he worked to help the North Suburban Library District bring about many significant changes, which have resulted in improvements to the library district; and…WHEREAS, during Mayor Lindberg’s tenure, he served as a member of the Friends of the Library helping with annual book sales and other fundraisers; and…WHEREAS, during Mayor Lindberg’s tenure, he served as a member of the Rotary Club of Loves Park, helping with their fundraisers that in turn, supported North Suburban Library District’s literacy efforts; and…
“WHEREAS, Mayor Lindberg has always maintained that the community must look to the future while not forgetting the past; and to do this he has supported
North Suburban Library District local history services; and…WHEREAS, during Mayor Lindberg’s term, the library district initiated and completed numerous renovation projects that have and will continue to improve the quality of life for residents of Loves Park and the library district now and in the future; and…WHEREAS, after 20 years of loyal service to the residents of the City of Loves Park, and the North Suburban Library District, Mayor Lindberg has earned the right to enjoy his retirement and participate more fully in as many community groups and activities that as Mayor he helped develop and that he supported…
“Now, therefore be it resolved that the North Suburban Library District Board of Trustees does hereby officially recognize the contributions of Mayor Lindberg to the residents of the library district; and…Be it further resolved that the North Suburban Library District on behalf of all the residents of the library district does hereby express to Mayor Lindberg their gratitude and best wishes for a healthy, long-lasting, peaceful and rewarding retirement as Mayor of Loves Park.”
