The North Boone LEOs, the youth branch of the Capron Lions Club, prepare to present a check for $4000 to Restoring Hope Transplant House.

The LEO Club at North Boone High School has recently raised $4000 to benefit the Restoring Hope Transplant House.

“We have raised money by concessions sales at the North Boone High School and by selling plants and trees,” said NBHS LEO President Ben Hooker. We also received money from an anonymous donor, which prompted donations from more donors as well. We will be donating the money to Restoring Hope Transplant House In Wisconsin.

“Our Lion’s Club district governor had a heart transplant and stayed there while recuperating. It is something like Ronald McDonald House that allows families to access specialized medical treatment by providing a place to stay at a small cost.

“Restoring Hope keeps a clean environment for recovering patients and their families. It is not a public hotel; they offer specialized accommodations and support during the patient’s transplant recovery.

“As LEOs, we are the youth division of the Lions Clubs. Our motto is “We Serve.” We serve our community and beyond. We have also raised money for two students at Manchester Elementary School. They have received a low vision diagnosis and we purchased I-Pads for them. The I-Pads allow them to see what teachers have written on their Smart boards so the students can follow along with their peers and…
