On the agenda at the South Beloit City Council meeting June 4 was a discussion about issues with the city’s Local Government Health Plan, in relation to such issues as delayed payments to prescribers/doctors and health plan providers that has caused some city employees to be referred to collection.

A change over to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, as suggested by City Attorney Roxanne Sosnowski, is set for further discussion.

A resolution was approved for the city to authorize Mayor Ted Rehl to sign an “Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement for Mutual Aid” with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Beloit, the Wisconsin Police Department, and the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.

A request for a fishing derby to be held at City Park on Sat. June 16 from 7-11 a.m. for the Knights of Columbus Council 8021 was okayed.
