Sporadic showers all weekend didn’t deter fans from coming to the 9th annual Meltdown Drags held this past weekend at Byon Dragway. More than 375 vintage drag vehicles, vintage 1966 and before, from all over the United States converged upon the dragway for the three-day event.

The allure of this event is very catching. The event drew a track-record 13,618 spectators in 2017. Attendance figures for this year weren’t available at press time.

Many major hot rod magazines from across the country were there once again to take pictures and report on the event.

During the rain delays many attendees took advantage of the extra time to peruse about the accompanying swap meet and cars show.

Besides the usual muscle cars that showed up, there were a few cars never seen before at Meltdown drags.
