The temperature was in the 80’s, it was sunny with occasional clouds, and a light breeze fluttered through the air, making for a very pleasant day at this years Cars on Main car show in Pecatonica on Saturday, July 28.

Numbers were up from last year, as 263 vehicles registered for the show, with probably another 10 to 20 that came but did not register for any prizes.

Main Street was filled with vehicles from 5th Street all the way down to 2nd Street, with all of the side parking lots filled in between.

A few vehicles never before seen at the show added to the experience. Two VW busses were at the show. One was a purple 1971 Westphalia edition owned by Trent Fermanich of Rockford. Fermanich has owned the vehicle for eight years now and uses it as his everyday vehicle, except in the winter. In the summer he and his wife use it for camping also. The Westphalia edition didn’t come with many frills, which makes camp set up a snap.
