State Representative Joe Sosnowski visited with constituents in Belvidere to discuss issues and answer questions.

State Representative Joe Sosnowski met with constituents from the Boone County – Winnebago County area with an early morning “Coffee with Joe” gathering at Ned’s Restaurant, 2132 U.S. Rte. 20. He came willing to discuss what he has been doing and address any concerns or issues that may have come up since his last visit.

He had even prepared a brochure detailing a number of the most asked about issues:

“Dear neighbors, Following the conclusion of the 2018 Legislative Session of the Illinois General Assembly, I am taking this opportunity to provide you with an update on many of the issues addressed over the past year.

Illinois continues to face a number of challenges due to decades of poor fiscal management. There was little fiscal constraint during the budgeting process, or honest conversation on how to cover escalating costs. As a result, we continue to spend more on interest and debt liabilities than on programs and services that make a difference in the lives of Illinoisans. Education, human services, and public safety – these programs need stability – the stability that can only come from a long-term, fully balanced budget in a growth community.

Illinois has a diverse economy with much to offer. Our natural resources, central location, and transportation assets are the rival of other states; however, as we seek to build a brighter future for Illinois, we must implement economic and structural reforms to purge the stain of corruption and myriad of false promises.
