Byron Public Library District announces programs
Each month the Byron Public Library schedules events, classes and activities geared towards youth and adults. Please register for all programs by calling 815-234-5107.
Prize Drawing at the Byron Library – The Byron Public Library District is pleased to announce the opportunity for a lucky drawing winner to obtain a voucher for two free tickets to Hamilton: The Exhibition. The exhibition on Chicago’s Northerly Island opened on May 28 and will continue through August 28. The drawing will take place on Wednesday, June 26 at 1:00 pm at the beginning of the library program, Yesterday Once More. Bilingual Kids – Session 1-Tuesdays: June 11-25, Session 2-Tuesdays: July 9-23,
10:00-10:45am, Ages: Entering 1st and 2nd grade. Bienvenidos! Listen to bilingual stories, play hands-on games, and learn the basics of Spanish. Read & Play @ the Park – Monday, June 17, 10:00-11:00am, Ages: 4-9 years. Messy crafts, stories, games, and parachute play. Join us for summertime fun at Blackhawk Meadow Park. Dress for mess, wear tennis shoes and bring a water bottle. Please register through the Byron Park District.
Yesterday Once More: Music performed by Renee Christine Hein – Wednesday, June 26, 1:00-2:00pm, Join us for an entertaining tribute to the songs that defined the decades. Hits from the 40’s to the 70’s will bring you back to those special moments that have lasted a lifetime. She will serve up her altered renditions of favorites like “Unforgettable” (I’m Forgetful) and more song parodies to keep the fun rolling! Coffee with a Cop – Friday, June 28, 9:30-10:30am. Join your neighbors and officers for coffee and a conversation. No agenda or speeches, just a chance to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the police chief here in Byron. No registration is required!

Michael Gershbein of Very Smart People will ehlp you navigate the complex world of streaming video services and devices and show you how to cut the cable cord, or at least lower your monthly cable bill.
