Settlers Park in Rockton was filled with the sound of music on Wednesday evening, June 5, as “Blind Date” entertained the large crowd with their own brand of rock and roll, heavy metal, and mainstream music. It was the first of 12 Wednesday evening programs being offered during Rockton River Market.
Sponsored by the Village of Rockton, the event combines a Farmer’s Market, featuring a seasonable variety of locally grown fruits and vegetables, area businesses and services promoting their products, including several restaurants serving food and beverages, and an eclectic mixture of musical entertainment.
River Market is celebrated from 5 to 8 p.m., every Wednesday evening through August.
Musical entertainment begins at 6 p.m.
Pistol Pete will entertain the crowd on June 19. The event takes a break during Old Settlers Day activities and returns June 26, when “Baseball Normal” takes the stage.
July 3, features “The Sensations”, followed by “Rock and Roll Institute on July 10.
“Minimal” is scheduled to play on July 17.
July 24, “Three Good Men” will be featured.
“Little Miss Whiskey” will provide the evening’s entertainment, on July 31.
Aug. 7, “That Girl” takes the stage. The following week, (Aug 14) brings “Harpo’s Review” to Rockton.
Aug. 21, “Shuffle This” will keep the crowd entertained.
The last River Market of the 2019 season will feature “Switch Track Alley Bank” on Aug. 28.
