James David Adams

James David Adams passed away on July 17, 2019 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born on December 6, 1928 to Herschel Frederick Adams and Mildred May Taylor Adams in Rockford. He joined the Navy around the end of WWII and served on various ships, but saw no action. He met Nadine Holley while attending BYU, and the couple married and had four sons. Jim graduated in BYU’s first class of chemical engineers, and later worked as a chemical engineer in paints, paper, and aerospace in all three west coast states. Jim also graduated with a doctorate in entomology (the study of insects) from UCR in 1977 and worked for the USDA and EPA, specializing in pesticides and earning a Bronze Medal for Commendable Service before retirement.
