CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, are specially trained citizens appointed by the court to serve as guardian ad litems in cases alleging abuse, neglect, or dependency of a child.

“If anyone is interested in training to be an advocate and wants to learn to help endangered children, call CASA at 815-547-6599.”

Dr. Derek Prado, DC said, “I am on the CASA Board of Directors. I began Cars & Coffee for CASA two years ago. I wanted to do a car show and thought ‘why not benefit CASA at the same time?’ We are doing it again for a third year because everyone enjoyed it.

“We have motorcycles, classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, trucks, sports cars, and all kinds of good stuff.”

Dr. Prado handcrafted the trophies again this year. Pizza Fresca, JPG Concessions, Inc. and Coley’s Coolers provided refreshments. Manley’s Belvidere Driven to Give test drives gave $20 per test drive/survey. They had a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction.

Tiffany of Massage Innovations brought her massage table and chair out and did massages for donations to CASA. She offers Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, myofascial, sports massage, hot stone massage, TMJ Relief, Cold Stone Migraine Relief, cupping therapy and a detox foot spa at her office, 431 S. Phelps Ave., Building 6, Rockford. 815-544-3976.

“The Rock River Valley Blood Center was in attendance – 17 units collected which could save 51 lives. Also had Manley’s there for the Drive to Give event – test drives earned CASA money.
