The Stroll returned to its usual day and time of Sunday afternoons on July 12 from 1 to 6 p.m. There was entertainment including Dale Rhode and the Crossroads, Bucktooth Sugar Bush, and TNZ Magic. Restaurants and businesses were open on the west part of Buchanan St. while a shaved ice truck and taco trucks were ready for customers on the east side of the street.

Picnic tables were set up on the grassy area with a large space between the tables and the stage for any dancing to take place and Buchanan St. itself was barricaded to vehicular traffic with several picnic tables set up on the street.

The crowd was laid back and relaxed, staying at their tables or strolling over to visit the booths with T-shirts, gorgeous dresses, and unique, handcrafted facemasks. The Belvidere Police Officers monitoring the area had little to do and said the crowd was very well behaved. The officers also had the chance to stroll and enjoy the beautiful day with its slightly lower temperatures and a soft breeze.

Many people are still staying at home while others are beginning to come out to socialize with their friends. All were encouraged to continue to wear masks when not eating, utilize the hand sanitizing stations, and maintain social distancing to stay safe.

More Buchanan Street Strolls are scheduled for July 26, Aug. 9, Aug. 23, Sept. 13, and Oct. 4
