BELVIDERE – On Thursday, Aug. 20, the Belvidere North High School, the Belvidere High School, and the North Boone High School boys’ golf teams all competed in the 7th Annual Boone County Open at Timber Pointe Golf Club par 36.

Belvidere North took home the win with the four lowest scores totaling a sum of 171.

The good performance was due to the low scores of Cam Batson with a total of 39, Josh Cassaro with a total of 41, Jake Dykstra with a total of 43, and Garrett Nelson with a total of 48. Their other teammates weren’t far behind with Brenton Payne scoring a 49 and Tony Lazzerini scoring a 53.

Belvidere High School came in second with the four lowest scores totaling 188.

The team members with the four lowest scores were Brandon Bishoff with 44, Gunner Gleason with 46, Larry Larsen with 48, and Dylan Boardman with 50.  They also had a great effort from teammates Garrett Keeney with a total score of 55 and Ryan Snyder with a total of 54.

North Boone High School came in third with a total sum of 226.

The four lowest scores came from players Poskie with a 48, Yunk with 55, Hildebrant with 60, and Glickenberger with 63. Not too far behind were teammates Freedland with a score of 75 and Smock with a total of 78.
