ROCKFORD – The Belvidere North High School boys’ varsity golf team beat Guilford High School in a game in Guilford’s territory in Rockford on Wednesday, Sept. 16. BNHS won 166-175.

The Belvidere North Blue Thunder team roared with low scores against Guilford. The four front runners were all within six points of each other with Jake Dykstra taking the lead with a 38.

Following closely behind were Cam Batson with a 42, and Josh Cassaro and Garrett Nelson with 43s.

The other two Blue Thunder players were only a few points behind the leaders with Adam Veruchi scoring a 44 and Brenton Payne scoring a 49.

Although Guilford High School lost out to North, their four front runners came close to defeating BNHS, with their final team score only being 9 points off the lead.

Swanson scored a 41, followed by Cuevas with 43, Schmitt with 45, and Edwards with 46.
