donatBELVIDERE – The Belvidere Police Department, Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS), and the Police Explorer Post will kick off the “Feed the Need” campaign beginning on Saturday, Nov. 21.

With the help of the community, we will collect nonperishable food, toiletries, new toys, gloves, mittens, scarves, and hats for those in need. The items collected will be provided to local food pantries, the Belvidere Salvation Army and local churches, who either have food pantries or supply free meals to those in need.

The community can drop off items at the dates, times, and locations listed below:

On Saturday, Nov. 21, community members can drop off items at Countryside Pacemaker in Poplar Grove.

On Saturday, Nov. 28, items can be dropped off at Aldi’s in Belvidere.

On Saturday, Dec. 5, items may be dropped off at K-Mart in Belvidere or at the Belvidere Pacemaker.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, the community can drop off items at Belvidere ACE Hardware.

All locations will accept donations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the selected dates and places.

We will collect nonperishable food, toiletries, new toys, gloves, mittens, scarves, and knit hats.

All items collected will be donated to local churches, food pantries, and the Salvation Army.
