The Vintage Wings and Wheels Museum will host a Holiday Wine Tasting event.

The Belvidere High School Girls Swimming and Diving varsity teams will compete in the IHSA Sectionals at the Byron High School pool.

The Belvidere Park District will host the NASR Craft Fair beginning at 8 a.m.

The Stateline Generals Travel Baseball Program is looking for new recruits and will hold try-outs at the Stateline Sports Indoor Center, located at 7939 Burden Road in Machesney Park. From 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., athletes can warm-up and participate in late sign-in. From 9 a.m. to noon, tryouts will occur. fizzJoin the Belvidere Park District for an afternoon of exploding art. Things will get fizzy as we experiment with the effects of baking soda and vinegar in paint. This class can be messy, so dress appropriately. We bring the supplies, parents and children bring the fun. This event is for parents and their children aged four to seven. The event, led by Kathleen Roth, will take place at the Rivers Edge Recreation Center Multipurpose Rooms from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The class requires a minimum of five participants with a maximum limit of 25. Registration costs $14 to $21 depending on how many attend the event. Registration needs to be in by Nov. 12.

The First Presbyterian Church, located at 221 N. Main St. in Belvidere, will host its Holiday Bazaar. Come and shop at our Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bazaar includes Christmas Crafts and decorations, homemade goodies at our bake sale, a bazaar luncheon, and so much more. The bazaar luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Tickets are available now for $10 each. Please call the church office for reservations at (815) 544-6402. No tickets will be sold at the door. Come and start your Christmas shopping with us!

The Beloit Bombshells Flat Track Roller Derby Team will take on the Aurora 88’s at 1230 E. Inman Parkway in Beloit, Wis. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the first whistle will go off at 7 p.m. If you want to go and watch, tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

The Belvidere Park District is hosting a Fall Classic Film Series. It is a free night of cinematic fun. Chairs are provided, but people can bring a blanket or lawn chairs for comfort. Popcorn and refreshments will be available for purchase. The classic movie this week is The Goonies which will play at the Rivers Edge Recreation Center Gym at 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Belvidere Park District will host the NASR Craft Fair ending at 5 p.m.

The Belvidere Park District will host a Holiday Exploration and Craft Series for children ages six to 10. Join them each month to learn fun facts and explore how each holiday is celebrated both in the United States and around the world. They’ll make a seasonal craft for each child to take home and display, so clear some space on the mantle or coffee table. The craft series will occur at Rivers Edge Recreation Center’s Upper Multipurpose Rooms. Kathleen Roth will teach the classes to a minimum of five children and a maximum of 25. Registration deadline is the Monday before the event. The cost of each class is roughly $12 to $18. The class will be from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
