winterBELVIDERE – The Boone County Conservation District will host the 1800’s Holiday Walk on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Join us for an evening of magic as you are transported back to the 1800’s. Stroll along luminary lit paths, listen to carolers, stop at two historic log cabins to learn about Christmas past, meet a Civil War Santa in his field tent and enjoy holiday treats and live music in the one room schoolhouse.

Learn about winter on the prairie, watch a blacksmith making gifts and enjoy popcorn cooked over an open fire. After the outside activities, guests can warm up in the nature center and children can make their own holiday ornaments, while everyone enjoys hot cider and holiday treats.

This event is free and will take place at the Boone County Conservation District, located at 603 N. Appleton Road in Belvidere.
