BYRON – Students from Byron High School prepared audition selections for the District VIII choir festival last October. From those audition scores the top eight from each section are selected to be a part of the All-State Choir. Four Byron Choir students scored high enough to qualify for All-State this year.

Izzy Bartscher and Caleigh Huber’s scores put them in the Honors Ensemble and Holly Fortener and Brittany Harn are in the All-State Ensemble. They will rehearse for three days and then have a final concert with the All-State Band and Orchestra.

Anna Saltzgiver has been selected to the Future Music Educator’s Seminar that is also an All-State program. Anna will attend sessions that will begin to train her skills on becoming a music educator. She had to submit a resume and also an essay on why she wants to go into the field of music education. She also will be in Peoria the last week in January. Natalie Hass nominated Anna for the FMES sessions and Amy Harn prepared the choir students for their auditions.
