ROCKFORD – On Wednesday, Jan. 20, at approximately 3:10 p.m. the Dollar General at 1405 Kishwaukee St. was robbed at gunpoint.

A lone white male suspect entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect obtained some money and fled on foot.

Rockford Police Officers and an Illinois State Police K-9 unit responded to the Armed Robbery. While investigating this incident Officers were able to track the flight of the suspect to an address nearby.

While at the address Officers were able to locate the suspect and other evidence. The suspect was a 16-year-old male. Detectives interviewed the suspect, and he was subsequently charged with Armed Robbery.

Due to the offender’s age his name is not being released. The suspect was lodged in the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center.

The suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
