LOVES PARK – Loves Park Rotary Club member Andrew Reynolds welcomed the Harlem High Middle School Student of the Month, Brighton Young.

Her parents are Mark and Stacey Young and her mother was with her along with their friend, Karen, and Brighton’s Math teacher, Emily Bork.

She is involved in school with the Science Olympiad, plays the baritone tuba in the band and is on the golf team. A highlight for Brighton was attending the Masters last year where she got a “high five” from Tiger Woods.

She’s helped with various golf organizations including the Rockford Pro-Am. She’s involved in the Children’s Theater Project, the Teen Peer Court and is a member of the Grace Lutheran Church confirmation and youth group.

When she reaches 14, she can volunteer at Hoo Haven. After high school, Brighton wants to be selected to play on the Alpine Bank ProAm team and work hard enough on her golf game to play division one on a scholarship.

She’d like to excel academically so that she can achieve her dream of becoming a veterinarian. Congratulations, Brighton, on being named Loves Park Rotary’s Middle School Student of the Month!
