ROSCOE – Big changes have occurred at the former Mandolin Café, 10684 Main St. in Roscoe. Gone are the cozy log cabin atmosphere and the tantalizing aroma of coffee and spices, although visitors can still get a good cup of coffee or tea at K Paige.

Situated next to Firehouse Pub on Main Street, the iconic building (now painted white) is the new home of K Paige, a contemporary boutique filled with an eclectic mix of reasonably priced clothing in regular, plus size and children, jewelry, accessories, essential oils and more.

Several months ago, Brooke Anderson began looking into the idea of launching a new business. After working as a dental hygienist for 11 years and heading up a family construction business, she was looking for something different that would allow her to spend more time with her two children, 7-year-old Trey and 10-year-old Kaymyn Paige.

“I had been contemplating opening a shop like this for a long time,” Anderson said. “Then I saw that the Mandolin Café building was for sale. The timing was perfect.”

Anderson said the building was in good shape but needed a different look. Extensive redecorating was completed to give the building a more contemporary and colorful look inside and out.

“Mandolin Café owners Steve and Jeanne Dereby were so accommodating in helping me get started,” Anderson said.

Anderson wants her business to be community friendly. She is a new member of the Stateline Chamber of Commerce. She plans to hold charity events on a monthly basis, After-Hour Ladies Nights, wedding and baby showers and birthday parties, by appointment.

An Open House was held on March 19, to introduce area shoppers to the new boutique and the K Paige staff: Jenny Villa, Jen Thomas, Coleen Fereidenhauer and Stephani Erickson.New store
