LOVES PARK – At the April 25 Loves Park City Council meeting, Mayor Darryl Lindberg presented four names for reappointment to area and city boards:

* Thomas Walsh to the Rockford Area Venue and Entertainment Authority Board (RAVE) with a term set to expire June 30, 2021.

* John Danielson for reappointment to the Police Pension Board with a term to expire June 30, 2018.

* Sawn Novak for reappointment to the Zoning Board of Appeals, term to expire June 30, 2021.

* Thomas Freesmeier for reappointment to the Zoning Board of Appeals, term to expire June 30, 2021.

Lindberg noted that “all four of these people are doing a good job and are recommended by staff.”

Council members voted unanimously to accept all four reappointments.

Alderman Clint Little gave the weekly police activity report for the week of April 17-23. A total of 510 calls for service, 362 arrests, and 12 accidents were logged. On the weekly fire department report dated April 24, two false fire alarm calls, and one carbon monoxide or gas leak call was reported.

Aldermen approved payment of $59,959.59 in water department bills and $83,428.07 in general fund and all other bills, as presented April 18.

Alderman Greg Jury reported that the March ending balance in the treasure’s report came in at $8,314,523.46.

A resolution was passed authorizing the police chief to purchase four replacement desktop computers and one replacement laptop computer from Entre Computer Solutions for a cost of $4,195.43, and three replacement network Ethernet switches for use at the department from CDW-G in Vernon Hills (IT Product Services for Government) for $5,242.

An ordinance, first reading, was passed amending an ordinance “To approve service and consumption of alcohol on an attached outdoor seating area to be added to the Class A (tavern) liquor license” for Tavern at the Sahara in the 7400 block of Forest Hills Road.
