Harlem High School Athletic Director, Kurt Weigt, announces the hiring of Scott McCloy as the new Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Harlem High School.

Coach Scott McCloy was approved by the Harlem School Board at their monthly meeting on June 13, 2016.

“We are extremely excited to have Scott leading the baseball program at Harlem.”

Scott McCloy is in his eighth year of teaching in the Harlem School District. He is currently teaching Physical Education at Harlem High School. He is a 1998 graduate of Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Ill.

Prior to receiving his B.S. in Physical Education from Northern Illinois University, Scott served four years as a Combat Medic in the 25th Infantry Division.

He served one year in Afghanistan fighting in Operation Enduring Freedom. Scott has been on the baseball staff at Harlem the past seven years, with the last six years being the Assistant Varsity and Pitching Coach. He spent six years on the Harlem football staff in various positions, including Head Sophomore Coach as well as Varsity QB Coach.

In addition, he was the Girls Varsity Basketball Assistant Coach for three years, winning an IHSA Regional Championship. Scott resides in Roscoe with his wife of 10 years, Nicole, his daughter Addison, son Maddux, and a dog Dunston.
