Charles Lee Summers, 55, of Rockford, passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, at his home.

He was born June 25, 1961 in Belvidere, the son of Bill and Betty (Glass) Summers.

He graduated from Belvidere High School in 1979, received his Electronic Certificate from Rock Valley College, and attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Charles married the love of his life Caroline S. Bildahl on July 11, 1987 at Salem Lutheran Church in Rockford.

He was an electronic test technician working for Motorola and Honeywell. He enjoyed building computers and radios, and tinkering with vintage tube electronics. He also collected antique telephones and enjoyed time spent with his family and cherished pets, especially his cat, Puddy.

He is survived by his beloved wife Carrie Summers; daughters, Adrienne and Kelcey Summers; in laws- Richard and Gwen Bildahl.

He is preceded in death by his parents. A special thanks to his nurse Amie Bemis and Northern Illinois Hospice for their compassionate comfort and care.

There will be a visitation Monday, Aug. 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Belvidere Funeral Home in Belvidere. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m.  Interment will be in Belvidere Cemetery Belvidere.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Northern Illinois Hospice.
