On Saturday, July 9, the University of Illinois Extension hosted 4-H General Projects Day for 4-H members to showcase their non-livestock projects. At this time, the judges selected those members and their projects to represent Boone County at the Illinois State Fair on Aug. 21 in Springfield.

Those 4-H members receiving State Fair Delegate ribbons are:

Aerospace

For Aerospace Ryan Hughes and Michael Gill will receive ribbons.

Animal Science

Lea Zimmerman and Olivia Hughes will receive ribbons for animal science.

Clothing and Textiles

Abigail Rozanas, Mattie Yerk, and Emma Cordray will receive ribbons.

Fashion Review

Abby Nelson, Brooklyn DeWall, and Taylor Lipinsky will receive ribbons.

Clothing-Shopping in Style

Daria Cleland and Megan Waibel will receive ribbons.

Crops

Megan Exner, Jonah Mundy, and David Lopez all specialized in crops to receive ribbons.

Electricity

For electiricity, Evan Gustafson and Allen Ryan will receive State Fair Delegate ribbons.

Entomology

Olivia Hughes and Nickole Ryan both specialized in entomology.

Floriculture

Two individuals specialized in floriculture: Grace Wehrhan and Megan Exner.

4-H Cooking 101

For the first cooking class, Lars Carlson will receive a ribbon.

4-H Cooking 201

The second class ribbon will go to Ben Castillo.

4-H Cooking 301

The third class ribbon will go to Caitlyn Anderson.

4-H Cooking 401

The fourth class ribbon will go to Abigail Nelson.

Food Preservation

Only one 4-H member specialized in food preservation: Max Semeniuk.

Horticulture: Vegetable Gardening

Brock Irwin and Emma Cordray studied horticulture: vegetable gardening.

Intercultural

Emma Cordray also studied intercultural.

Leadership

Austin Brockmann studied leadership and will receive the State Fair Delegate ribbon for his study.

Photography

Evelyn Rudy, Nadine Didier, Carissa Stear, and Abigail Rozanas all studied photography.

Brock Irwin improved his presentation skills.
