The H.O.P.E. Foundation is proud to announce the upcoming 17th Annual “Touch of Spring” fundraiser/dinner and dance to benefit Hononegah High School. The benefit will be held at the American Center Banquet Hall in Rockton on Saturday, March 11 with a social hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m., and dancing from 8 to 11 p.m.

The theme this year will be a “Touch of Country and Western” with Jamie Campbell and the Redneck Romeos, a six-piece Midwest country-rock powerhouse, providing music throughout the evening. The band was formed in 2011 and is a three-time consecutive winner of the RAMI Awards for Best Regional Country Band.

The highlight of the evening will be the raffle drawing of a beautiful hand-crafted ring designed by Hononegah students in the jewelry design class taught by Jennifer Decker and assisted by Kevin Mueller of the Gem Shop of Rockton, who donated the materials and helped the students complete this dazzling project! This year will be the first time students have been involved in creating the design for the ring.  The ring’s band is a rope pattern in rose gold with two diamonds nested on each side of a 4.05 ct. oval Morganite stone. The beautiful piece of jewelry is valued at $3,000. This annual raffle was established to fund a scholarship in memory of Jan Modersohn who was the Village Clerk from 1991-2009 and a true advocate for the area youth.

Tickets for this raffle are $5 each or six for $20. They can be purchased at the Gem Shop, Hononegah High School (District Office), Village Hall, the American Legion and from the H.O.P.E. Foundation Trustees. This raffle is open to the public.

A ticket to this event includes dinner for two, dancing, a silent auction and inclusion in the raffle. They can be purchased for $125. Throughout the evening there will be 45 tickets drawn for cash prizes totaling $6,450. The H.O.P.E. Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in 1997, was established as an endowment for school projects, student scholarships and teacher grants. It is the Foundation’s continued goal and desire to provide monetary resources for both the students and teachers. Similar to college foundations, the H.O.P.E. Foundation relies on community and business support to fund this endowment.  You may ask, “How can I make a donation to this Foundation?”  Go to the high school website www.hononegah.org and click on the “Community” tab which will take you to our link.

There are five options to choose from when making a donation: 1.) Donate in honor of a teacher, coach, or administrator; 2.) Donate in memoriam of a teacher, coach, or administrator; 3.) Make a pledge over multiple years; 4.) Give a corporate matching gift; and 5.) Donate stock or property to the Foundation. With the last three options, there is specific contact information to assist in making the donation/gift.
