Harlem’s girls bowling team will be back at the state tournament this weekend, after winning the Bel-videre sectional by a whopping 562 pins last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Josh Carter, a junior, and senior Dalton Hambrock qualified for the state wrestling tour-nament by finishing second and third, respectively, at the Barrington sectional.
The Lady Huskies finished fourth at state last year and are familiar with bringing home the biggest trophy, having won five titles since 2000.
Their 6,401 pinfall at Forest Hills Lanes was the highest among the six sectional winners. And as a bonus, senior Mylee McCracken was the individual champion with a six-game 1,334 series. She, junior Stephanie Richards (1,332) and sophomore Becca Hagerman (1,301) were 1-2-3 among individuals.
The NIC-10 once again will have a multiple presence in the state finals, with Rockford Guilford taking third at sectional. Two other conference rivals, Belvidere and Belvidere North, fell a bit short, finishing sixth and eighth, respectively.
