Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club to donate to OSF HealthCare

	Members of the Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club presented a $1,600 check to the OSF HealthCare on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 9 a.m. at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, 5666 E. State St.

“We are grateful for the club’s continuous support,” said Ryan Duvall, strategic philanthropy officer for the OSF Saint Anthony Foundation. “We see many incredible patient outcomes from the burn unit, and to receive community support like this is very gratifying.”

 
 

Main Street Players start the holiday season with two Christmas classics

In a two-shows-for-the-price-of-one decision, the Main Street Players chose a double-header of family favorite shows to perform for the holiday season. ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ and ‘Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus’ are always fun to watch.

 
 

Red Kettle Kickoff event kicks off Christmas season in Belvidere

	The Salvation Army Red Kettle Kickoff drew Belvidere dignitaries to support efforts to raise money for the hungry and disadvantaged in the area.

The Salvation Army Red Kettles have been a holiday tradition since 1891. But did you know, the money raised during our kettle campaign is used to bring joy and relief to those in need throughout the entire year?

 
 

Early Veterans’ Day celebration organized at BHS

	Congressman Adam Kinzinger was the featured speaker for Belvidere High School’s Veteran’s Day assembly on Friday, Nov. 9.

He spoke of our founding fathers and how they willingly put their lives on the line when they declared independence. They fully expected to die, Kinzinger told us, since no one, but no one, ever attempted to separate from Great Britain and succeeded.
