In past years, only two people have been so honored each year – one a member of the Grange (a Granger) and one a non-member of the Grange. This year, each Grange is honoring five people: a Granger, a non-Granger, a police officer, a firefighter, and a teacher.
The Board of Directors also dedicated the complex to John Fish, and his long-time coaching partner, friend, and mentor, John Ross, who manages building and grounds for the organization, and has been involved for over 40 years.
“The breakfast is an opportunity for families to connect to farms and learn about agriculture, animal care and safety, and ask questions about food production.
When Belvidere Police Chief Woody heard that kickball was one of the activities she was planning, he said, “Let me know when you play kickball. I’ll play. It will be fun to get out there with the kids and have a good time with them.”
