Mercyhealth MD 1 unit can help save lives; Mobile ‘ER’ travels to treat patients at the scene

   Mercyhealth’s MD 1 program brings emergency physicians and ER equipment to the field, such as the site of a natural disaster, crash or someone’s home, to improve patient outcomes when critical minutes count, prior to transport by ambulance to a hospital. The program has four Chevy vehicles loaded with ER-level equipment and eight Mercyhealth EMS physicians in Wisconsin and Illinois with advanced training, including Dr. Matt Smetana, EMS medical director.

Robotics Team hosting electronic toy collection

	The Stateline Robotics team at Hononegah High School is collecting new automated toys (like the one pictured) that need to be squeezed or a part of it pressed to dance, play audio, etc., so team members can’t rewire toys that don’t have wires. The team’s goal is to “make play accessible for everyone; automated toys are nearly impossible to play with for children with limited mobility, so our team aims to fix that.”

    Hononegah’s Stateline Robotics Team is holding a toy drive to collect electronic toys to be adapted so that children with limited motor skills can still play.     After making a wheelchair for two children with limited mobility, the team has learned the struggles of children with motor skill challenges.
