BELVIDERE – Twice a week, Concordia Lanes, located at 1205 Logan Ave. in Belvidere, hosts junior bowling league where children from the area can improve their bowling skills by bowling once a week throughout the school year.

Each week, the junior league bowlers try to improve their bowling skills in their respective league category which is based upon the age and skill level of the bowler.

There are four categories in which children are categorized. The Cookies and Milk league is for the youngest, beginners. The Bantams league is the second division of youth. The Preps is third level of bowlers and the Junior/Majors are the top category of bowlers in the junior league.

Each week, Concordia Lanes announces the top junior bowlers from each category, from each bowling league.

On Saturday, Nov. 21, the top bowler for the Cookies and Milk league was Cora Jones who scored a 59.

Unfortunately, there was no top bowler in the Bantams league due to low attendance.

In the Preps division, Jessica Plodzien scored a 102 with a 293 series and Parker Morris scored a 127 with a 340 series.

In the final division, the Junior/Majors, Rachel Nelson scored a 215 with a 597 series and Aaron Rochon scored a 181 with a 513 series.

On Monday, Nov. 23, the top bowler for the Cookies and Milk category was Noel Capodanno who scored a 76.

In the Bantams league, Brooklynn Wilkinson scored a 68 with a 114 series.

In the Preps division, Adriana Wright scored a 107 with a 262 series and Preston Potter scored a 147 with a 351 series.

In the Junior/Major category, Morgan Dawley scored a 176 with a 447 series and Trace Dawley scored a 174 with a 442 series.
