Despite the recent weather looking more like spring is coming than winter is still upon us, area youth still flocked to the alleys to enjoy the winter sport of bowling on Saturday, Feb. 11 and Monday, Feb. 13.

With another round of bowling in the Junior Bowling League at Concordia Lanes, located at 1205 Logan Ave. in Belvidere, came more high scores from the usual youth bowlers and some new faces who finally hit their strides down on the lanes.

For Saturday’s game play, six youth bowlers joined the high scorers list with two junior bowlers making the list in each age group of the Junior Bowling League.

In the Bantams division, Mason Kahl rose to the top with a 95 high score and a 168 series. Camdyn Hall also made it to the top of the list with an 82 overall game and a 137 series.

For the Preps category, Mollie Jones came from under the radar to score a 144 game and a 348 series. Right behind her was Parker Morris with his finishing high score of 134 with a 384 series.

In the Junior/Majors division, Greg Suthers ended with a whopping 258 game and a 614 series. Although the runner-up in the Junior/Majors wasn’t even close to Suthers’ impressive game, she still ended with a great score. Maddie Jones made the high scorers list with a 135 game and a 392 series.

On Monday, Feb. 13, the bowlers worked just as hard to make it onto the high scorers list.

In the Bantams league, Brooklynn Wilkinson took the category as a solo high scorer with a 111 game and a 220 series.

Moving up to the Preps division, Maci McCoy had the highest score for the girls with a 124 game and a 320 series. Branndon Fowler had the highest score for the boys and the division with a 145 game and a 328 series.

In the Junior/Majors, Morgan Dawley was the queen bee of bowling with a 177 game and a 418 series. If Dawley was queen that meant Kevin Jenks was king with a 191 game and a 594 series to finish the week of bowling.
