Reappointments, appointments approved by city aldermen

A number of “reappointments” and appointments were approved by Loves Park aldermen at the June 7 city council meeting:
Thomas Walsh was reappointed to the Rockford Area Venue & Entertainment Authority, with a term to expire June 30, 2026.
Conrad Lantz received reappointment to the Police Pension Board, with a term to expire June 30, 2023.
Reappointment was approved for Nathan Bruck to the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, with a term to expire June 30, 2024.
Luke Carlson and Tino River were both appointed to fill open positions on the Zoning Board of Appeals, with a terms set to expire June 30, 2026.
Five resolutions were passed:
Mayor Greg Jury was approved to execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Loves Park and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150, Public Employees Division.
A resolution was passed authorizing the fire department to purchase a new fully equipped “Battalion Chief Command” vehicle and accessory equipment at a total of $57,100 from The Rock River Block.
Plat No. 2 of Harvest Falls Estates was okayed.
The Plat of “Roadway Dedication” was approved.
A resolution was okayed for sponsoring of the fireworks display for the Long Play Music Fest to be held at Rivets Stadium July 1-4.
Two ordinances, first reading, received approval:
A text amendment on the “North Second St. Overlay District” was okayed but a Code of Ordinances review is required.
An ordinance approving a zoning map amendment from Light Industrial (IL) zoning…E. Riverside Blvd. I-90 Overlay District to Commercial Retail (CR) zoning for property known as 8400 E. Riverside Blvd. was passed.
Per the weekly police activity report for the week of May 23, 466 calls for service were received, 90 arrests were made, and 19 accidents were responded to by officers.
The weekly fire department report for the week of May 25 listed a total of 66 EMS calls and 21 fire calls that the department responded to. Sixteen mutual aid calls that involved 13 aid responses given and three received.
Station No. 1 averaged six minutes and 22 seconds (dispatch to arrival), on fire response calls.
Station No. 2 averaged five minutes and 48 seconds (dispatch to arrival), on fire response calls.
Station No. 1 averaged 45 seconds pm fire responses, and two minutes, 57 second turnout time on EMS calls.
Station NO. 2 averaged one minute, 45 seconds on fire calls, and one minute, 26 seconds on EMS calls.
The water department repaired two water main breaks, one at 116 E. Riverside Blvd. and one at 418 Grand Ave.
