New software for Loves Park FD

Aldermen at the July 26 Loves Park City Council meeting had a busy time of it and approved four resolutions, along with two ordinances.
*A resolution authorizing the Fire Chief to purchase a complete turnkey reporting software package from ESO Solutions “for NFIRS, EMS, inspection/preplans, scheduling and hydrants for the amount of $28,686.10” was approved. Annual renewal yearly cost is $17,501.10, “excluding any unknown future price increases.”
*The mayor was authorized to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Loves Park, the City of Rockford, Winnebago County, and Rosecrance, Inc. for the formation of a Crisis Co-Responder Team. As noted in the resolution, “… relating to participation by the Loves Park Police Department in a program forming Crisis Co-Response Teams in cooperation with Rockford, Winnebago County and Rosecrance. The program is being fully funded by a grant from the Winnebago County Community Health Board. The grant has budgeted for the participation in the program by one Loves Park officer who will be assigned to the team.
“It is the function of these teams to be called in to assist in police calls involving mental health issues. This could be a mental health crisis, drug or alcohol issues or domestic violence as examples. The role of this team is to refer the individual suffering the mental health issue to the appropriate services for follow-up care. The police officer is dispatched along with a mental health professional from Rosecrance to facilitate getting the individual into appropriate services.”
*A resolution authorizing a letter agreement with the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council Lodge No. 187 regarding a specialty pay provision for assignment to a Crisis Co-Responder Team was passed, which “involves the approval of a letter agreement with the FOP to add serving on the CCRT to the Specialty Pay provision of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. This was budgeted for with grant funds and is in keeping with the specialty pay provided for participation in other programs such as school resource officer or SLANT.”
*A resolution authorizing a lease agreement with the Regional Office of Education, effective August 1 was approved.
*An ordinance, second reading, “making Appropriation for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 at a total of $41,900,841” was passed.
*An ordinance, first reading, authorizing the disposal of surplus personal
property owned by the City of Loves Park was okayed.
Per the police department weekly activity report for the week of July 11: 407 calls for service were received, 104 arrests were made, and officers responded to five accidents.
Per the fire department report for the week of July 13th, 66 EMS incidents and 23 fire call responses were noted.
Nine mutual aid calls given and three mutual aid calls were received.
Average fire department time on scene for the department came out to 12 minutes, eight seconds.
Work on the agenda for the street department includes painting over graffiti under bridges on Pearl, Garden Plain and E. Riverside Blvd. by Wantz Park.
In the previous week, the water department repaired a service leak at 6209 Elm St.
