Jesse White announces new Belvidere driver services facility is open
BELVIDERE – Secretary of State Jesse White announced that the new Driver Services facility in Belvidere is now open. The facility, which is located at 425 Southtowne Drive, contains 3,500 square feet of space, which is nearly 40 percent larger than the previous Belvidere facility.
The facility located at 1550 Pearl St. closed at the end of business on Saturday, Aug. 15.
“This new location will provide even better customer service due to the facility’s increased size,” White said. “In addition, it is conveniently located just off of Highway 20, a few blocks south from the previous facility, and has a much bigger parking lot.
White’s office has worked closely with the landlord who, as part of the 5-year lease agreement with a 5-year option to renew, was in charge of making necessary modifications to the building. These modifications, standard when opening a Driver Services facility at a new site, are designed to maximize the facility’s traffic flow and efficiency.
“The previous facility served an average of 300 applicants a day,” said White. “This larger facility will be able to serve customers even more efficiently and effectively.”
