Winners of district’s photo challenge are all from Belvidere
Winners of the annual 69th District Photo Challenge Con-test sponsored by State Rep. Joe Sosnowski, R-Rockford have been announced. The contest is offered each year to give State-line area residents an opportunity to share their interest in photography with the public. Photo submissions can be of nature, architecture, or daily life in Illinois’ 69th District, which includes portions of Boone and Winnebago counties.
“If you are a nature lover, architecture fanatic, or simply enjoy taking pictures every-where you go around the Stateline, this challenge is for you,” Sosnowski said when the challenge was announced. Stateline area residents were invited to submit a photo for entry in the annual 69th District Photo Challenge. “Each year more and more people submit remarkable snapshots of what makes living and exploring here so exceptional.”
Three winners were chosen to have their photographs displayed at Sosnowski’s office at the State Capitol in Springfield in 2022 and received a $50 gift card to their favorite restaurant in the 69th District, encouraging support for the local restaurant industry that was hit hard by COVID-19 mitigation measures.
The 2022 winners are “Old Mill Bridge” submitted by Karen Snyder of Belvidere; and two photos submitted by Hank Klassen of Belvidere, “Past and Present” and “The Guiding Light.”
Sosnowski said, “I would like to congratulate this year’s winners and thank everyone who submit-ted their outstanding photos.”
