River Lane Reconstruction Phase 2 work approved by Loves Park council

Aldermen approved several items at the Feb. 27 council meeting:
*A resolution for additional ReBuild Illinois funds in the amount of $15,410.35 to be appropriated for Phase 2 of the River Lane Reconstruction Project was passed as noted, “Additional ReBuild Illinois funds in the amount of fifteen thousand four hundred ten dollars and thirty-five cents ($15,410.35) are hereby appropriated for the purpose of Phase 2 of the River Lane Reconstruction Project. These funds were originally appropriated for “Phase I but actual costs were less than appropriated for that Phase. Funds are hereby appropriated and shall be drawn from Account No. 05-00-5135 (ReBuild IL – River Lane Reconstruction).”
*In conjunction, a resolution to hire ArcDesign Resources for engineering services for Phase 2 design of the North 2nd Streetscape at a cost not to exceed $314,000 was approved.
*An ordinance, first reading, approving issuance of a Class “B” Liquor License to P.B.X. 1, LLC d/b/a “House of Bottles” was okayed
*An ordinance, first reading, approving the issuance of a Class “R-4” Liquor License to Northside Collectibles, Inc. was okayed.
The fire department report for the week of Feb. 14 noted responses to: one structure fire, 57 EMS responses, one smoke or odor problem, four public service assistance responses, one dispatched and cancelled enroute call, one steam or other gas mistaken for smoke response, two false alarm calls, one system or detector malfunction response.
The weekly police activity report for the week of Feb. 12 noted: 512 calls for service, 151 arrests, 16 officer response calls.
Water department employees, among other duties repaired a water main break at 7712 Mesa St. and one at 5521 East Dr.
