Hononegah boy’s golf team defeats Belvidere North
ROSCOE – On Monday, Aug. 24, the Belvidere North High School boy’s varsity golf team faced off against Hononegah High School at Ledges Golf Course in Roscoe.
Several of BNHS’s athletes had impressive scores with Cam Batson, Garrett Nelson, and Jake Dykstra all tying for first on their team with a score of 43. Josh Cassaro wasn’t far behind with a total of 44 out of a par 36. These four made up the lowest scores representing their team for a total of 173.
Their other teammates weren’t far off with Adam Veruchi scoring a 48 and Tony Lazzerini totaling 51 points.
However, despite the impressive scores, they weren’t enough to defeat Hononegah’s players whose four lowest scores totaled 160 points. Anderson and Norwood tied for first at the meet with 39 points and Menon came in second with 40 points. Two of their teammates tied for the final points with scores of 42.
With these impressive scores, the Hononegah boy’s varsity golf team took the win from Belvidere North.
