Huskie boys roll to another bowling title
Harlem’s boys bowling team finished conference play a perfect 8-0 after beating Belvidere North, 3904-3070, this past week.
Harlem had only two competitive matches in NIC-10 action. The Huskies beat Hononegah, 4060-3691, in week two and then sweated out a 3,735-3538 win over East in week six.
Harlem dominated with depth. Heading into the final week, Harlem had five of the conference’s top 10 bowlers in Bryland Carpenter, Dake Titus, Simon Axe, Devin Titus and Colton Kilbreath.
Dake Titus led the way against Belvidere North with a 750 over four games (215, 289, 257, 204).
Harlem’s girls team is 6-0 with two weeks left. The closest the girls have come to losing was a 3,345-3,124 win over Guilford in week two of the season. Harlem does have matches left against Auburn this week and closes out with Hononegah next week.
Wrestling wins hard to come by in Batavia
Harlem wrestlers finished a combined 7-14 at the Clint Arlis Invitational in Batavia, one of the hardest tournaments that the Huskies will compete in this season.
Ethan Hagerman was 2-2 at 138 pounsd and Andrew Redmon was 2-2 at 190. Owen Recoy (138), Preston Fadness (150) and Charles Faulkner (157) picked up wins as well.
