PFC Horton graduates from Advanced Individual Training
FT. LEONARDWOOD, MO – PFC McKenzie Horton graduated on Aug. 17 from AIT (Advanced Individual Training) at Ft. Leonardwood, MO. He was a member of the 58th Transportation Battalion –Alpha Company.
PFC Horton specialized in Motor Transportation. He will be primarily responsible for supervising or operating wheel vehicles to transport personnel and cargo. They are the backbone of the Army’s support and sustainment structure, providing advanced mobility on and off the battlefield. Job training for a motor transport operator requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training (which he completed last summer at Ft. Jackson, S.C.) and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Part of this time was spent in the classroom and part in simulation, with over 200 training hours being spent in actual vehicles and field training environments.
MaKenzie is a member of the National Guard and is the son of Kelli Horton-Stillman Valley and the grandson of Debbie and Larry Clark-Durand.
