Brief trustee meeting held in Machesney

Harlem High School’s Girls Bowling Team is pictured July 21 as members were recognized for winning a 7th National Championship!
At the July 21 village board meeting in Machesney Park, trustees approved several items:
*An ordinance was passed for a “Grocery Tax Reinstatement.”
*An ordinance was okayed “approving an increase in the number of Class C Liquor Licenses and a Class C and Class G Liquor license for 7007 N 2nd St., (soon to become “On-A-Roll Spirits and Slots”).
*A special use permit for outdoor storage at 10505 Forest Hills Road passed.
*A resolution amending the Manual of Job Descriptions to add Payroll and Accounting Generalist” was okayed.
The Harlem High School Girls Bowling Team was recognized for winning their 7th National Championship.
As is always the case in ending the mayor’s report, Johnson ended the report by reminding everyone “how important it is to shop locally as it helps your local businesses and community year-round.”
