BELVIDERE – Listed below are the daily briefing accounts from the Belvidere Police Department.
Belvidere daily briefing
On Monday, Aug. 24, around 4:46 p.m., BPD Officer was sent to the 200 Block of W. 4th St. in reference to residential burglary. BPD Officer met with the complainant who said that sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. persons unknown, entered her residence and stole several items.
On Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 3:37 p.m. BPD Officer met with a complainant who stated she was notified by IRS that an unknown person used her social security number to file federal income taxes. It is unknown when and where this occurred. The complainant was referred to IC3.GOV and given an ID theft pack.
On Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 8:28 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 500 Block of W. Harrison in reference to a report of a suspicious heavy set male person standing at her 1st floor living room window on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 12:15 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
The complainant stated the suspicious person scratched at the screen of the locked window for about a minute and then left walking E/B after she may have scared him away.
On Thursday, Aug. 27, at 12:26 a.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to Wal-Mart for a vehicle fire in the parking lot. The owner of the vehicle was in Wal-Mart when his vehicle began smoking. Fire department determined it to be an electrical fire.
On Thursday, Aug. 27 at approximately 10:35 a.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 300 Block of W. 9th St. regarding stolen cell phones. The complainant reported that sometime between 10 a.m. and noon on Friday, Aug. 21 person(s) unknown stole a UPS Package containing several items.
Maintenance from the Belvidere Park District stated to BPD Officer that on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 8:22 p.m., that sometime between 7:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. this date, person(s) unknown cut down the regulation volleyball net from the posts, and stuffed it into the toilet in the men’s room. There was also graffiti located in the men’s bathroom.
On Friday, Aug. 28, at 11:05 a.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 800 Block of Foley Road in regard to a residential burglary. BPD Officer spoke with the complainant who stated that unknown subject(s) had entered her residence and taken items.
On Saturday, Aug. 29, at 2:16 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 1500 Block of Dawngate in regard to a burglary from motor vehicle. BPD Officer spoke with the complainant who stated that they parked their vehicle in the driveway approximately three weeks ago in front of their residence.
They stated that they came out of the residence on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 2 p.m. and went through the vehicle and noticed multiple items were missing.
On Saturday, Aug. 29 at approximately 10:45 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the PSB in reference to a theft. BPD Officer spoke with the complainant who stated that an item was taken from their vehicle while it was parked at their residence in the 600 Block of E. Pleasant St. sometime within the past two weeks.
On Sunday, Aug. 30, at 7:52 p.m., BPD Officer was dispatched to the 1700 Block of Pearl St. in reference to theft of gasoline. The offender was not located. The offender pumped gasoline and failed to pay. The vehicle was described as an older green van.
Boone County daily briefing
BOONE COUNTY – On Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 10:35 a.m. BCS Deputy was dispatched to the PSB reference stolen license plates.
BCS Deputy spoke to the complainant who stated that sometime on Monday, Aug. 24, someone stole both of his IL truck license plates. The complainant truck broke down on the side of the road and left it for a few hours and when he came back he discovered both of his IL plates were gone.
On Thursday, Aug. 27, at approx. 12:38hrs, BCS Deputy was dispatched to the 7800 Block of Monticello for items taken from a vehicle in the driveway.
BCS Deputy met with the complainant who said that his vehicle was parked in front of the residence on the night of Tuesday, Aug. 25 and when he got in the car on Wednesday, Aug. 26, he noticed that items were missing.
