Belvidere North girls’ tennis team defeats Belvidere High School
BELVIDERE – The Belvidere North High School girls’ team defeated the Belvidere Bucs at Belvidere High School on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
In the singles matches, Kaitlyn Goston of Belvidere faced Leragen Abbott of Belvidere North and lost both sets 0-6.
In the second singles game, Yaneth Gonzolez of BHS faced Kayla Vittore of BNHS and lost to Vittore 0-6 in both sets.
In the doubles games, Belvidere High School girls, Emma Knaup and Madelyn Deardorff, played against North girls, Jordan Trommator and Karli Tillema. BHS lost both sets with the first one ending 2-6 and the second ending 6-8.
In the next doubles match, BHS girls, Evette Escobar and Molly Velbeck, faced BNHS girls, Emma Gawaren and Angela Ignacio. The Belvidere Bucs lost both sets with the first one ending 4-6 and the second one ending 1-6.
In the third and final doubles game, BHS girls, Bryanna Williams and Natalie Cortez, faced off against the BNHS girls, Nora Stillwell and Eileen Bunt. BNHS won the match with a total score of 4-6 in the first match and the second match 2-6.
Belvidere North won the match 5-0.
