Coyotes
Coyotes have lived around us for a very long time. Join Peggy Doty for her program, The Life of the Coyote, Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Boone County Extension Meeting Room located at 205 Cadillac Court, Suite 5 in Belvidere.
Peggy will share her interest as well as information from the longest on going coyote research project. Love them or hate them this is sure to be informative and interesting to all those who think they know coyotes.

Illinois woodpeckers
There are many unique birds in the world but one of the most amazing and unique group of birds in North America and Illinois is the woodpecker family.
Peggy Doty, Extension Environmental Stewardship Educator will offer a presentation on Illinois Woodpeckers on Monday, Nov. 9 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Boone County Conservation District Nature Center.
The cost is $5 per person. Register and attend this insightful program and learn many facts about these fine birds as well as preferred foods. Register by calling the Boone County Extension office or online at web.extension.illinois.edu/bdo.
Eye-catching winter container gardens
Gardening containers don’t have to be for summer enjoyment. Come learn how easy it can be to create a beautiful winter container garden for your front porch or patio.
Participants will create their own eye-catching, 12 inch container filled with winter greens and accessories.
This program will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Boone County Extension office located at 205 Cadillac Court, Suite 5 in Belvidere. The cost for this program is $25 per person and includes all materials for the take home project.

Managing diabetes through the holidays
For people with diabetes it can be especially difficult to deal with the traditions and temptations of the season without negatively affecting diabetes control.
As a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator, Marilyn Csernus offers this program to help those with diabetes both enjoy the traditions of the holidays and manage diabetes.
This program will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Boone County Extension office, located at 205 Cadillac Court, Suite 5 in Belvidere. The cost is $5 per person.
